Season's Greetings

This was a fun little card that we made at our last Stamp Camp. I just love the little felt flurries. I think this card was made by one of the attendees. We always have so much fun. The Christmas Card Spectacular was a hit. We listened to Christmas music and ate Pumpkin Dump Cake. Sounds gross but its sooooo good! Yummy!

One of the ladies that attended, Gloria, is a Mary Kay lady. She made the card below and it turned out so CUTE! She's so creative! Gotta love a pink pick up truck with custome rims! Happy Stamping!

I'm baaaaaaccccccckkkk!!

I'm finally back in action. Just in time to share all of my Christmas Cards! Between work and school and all the other madness that is the holidays, I ignored my blog! So sorry. Not to worry. I going to try and be better about posting. Especially with the holidays coming up! Above is a card that I made for the last Stamp camp with BBF Steph and I had. I just love the red glitter nose! Hope all is with everyone and I look forward to blogging with you soon!

Thank Ewe

I made this card for a coworker to thank her for her recent kindness. Over the past few weeks she's been cleaning out her storage garage and had so many things she was giving away. I happen to benefit from several of her items and wanted to make a card for her. I saw this card on the Stampin' Up! demo website (another perk of being a demo) and decided to case it. I changed the color from bordering blue to rose red. I thought it made it a little more girlie. You can't really tell from the picture, but the "wool" on the sheep is dazzling diamonds. Love it!
Have a stamptastic day! (I totally stole that from BFF Steph! At least I admitted it!)

Happy Birthday Dad!

Today is my Dad's birthday and I'm a little late posting my Happy Birthday message. Part of the reason was that I wanted to make his birthday card from Bochy and post the picture. Sounds ridiculous, I know, but it is a tradition that I started with the grandparents. As ridiculous as it is they expect a card from their grand-dog and a birthday wouldn't be a birthday with out it. Even funnier is the fact that Bochy signs his cards with a paw print. He's such a good dog! He lets me take his paw and put it in the ink and then "stamp" it on the card. As you can see below he's pretty good at it! So FUNNY!

So even though I'm a little late in wishing my Dad a very HAPPY BIRTHDAY I wanted to share our little birthday tradition. I keep this retired stamp set (Ruff Day) specifically for "Bochy's cards". Oh the things us crazy pet parents do!

Season of Friendship

I made this card the other day with the new stamp set from the holiday mini. I was trying to stick to a fall theme and came up with this. I really love this set and am thinking about doing a frame with all the different seasons.
Hmmm maybe that will be my next project....oh wait my project list is a mile long (smile). I'll get around to it sooner than later I hope! Hope everyone has a great day! Happy Stamping!

It's Official!

Steph's a DEMO! We were actually talking about the first time I was introduced to Stamping. It was about 4 years ago and Steph was the one who introduced me! Many stamps later its her turn to be a part of the Stampin' Up! family. She was so excited to sign up online and take advantage of the special SU! was having. Once she clicked the submit button (see below) she was so happy! I was too! Watch out world...we're stamping!

Sailing on the bay!

Last Friday Daniel and I went sailing with my coworker Jenny and her husband. They had the bottom of their new boat refinished and were sailing it from Shelter Island to the Chula Vista Yacht club. They were kind enough to invite us along and show us new sea going people how sailing works. We had such a fun time. It was so relaxing I forgot how nervous I was about the whole 'on a boat' thing. We enjoyed ourselves so much we might have to do it again! This picture of the Coronado bay bridge was taken at about 5:30 pm. We realized after the fact that we forgot to take a picture of ourselves actually on the boat! Duh!

Holiday Planner Instructions

I've had several people ask about the holiday planner that I posted a few days ago. Many people found it on a website called Organized Christmas. I was flattered that they liked my little planner enough to feature it on their website. With that said here is a list of the items I used to make my planner. Everything I used was Stampin' Up! If you need to purchase some of the items listed below visit my website anytime. You can order anything 24/7.

Card Stock:

  • Real Red textured paper

  • Old Olive

  • Very Vanilla

  • Designer Series holiday paper (this paper is retired, and I am bummed that I didn't have some of the new holiday paper from the upcoming holiday mini catalog. Everyone can order form that on October 1! I'm so excited!)

  • Real Red

  • Old Olive
  • 1' circle punch

  • 1 1/4' circle punch

  • Word Window punch

  • Round Tab punch

  • Scallop Circle punch

  • Natural colored hemp twine

  • Flower ribbon slid (from the Hodgepodge hardware)

I think its pretty easy to pick apart the three pictures I posted on the earlier post. If you still need directions, leave a comment and I will respond to your particular question by responding to the comment you post.

Stamped wrapping paper

I really love receiving them, but that's not what this post is about (it is only 94 days until Christmas-but who's counting?):o)
I've always enjoyed wrapping presents and figured it might be fun making my own wrapping paper. With my sisters birthday a couple of days ago I figured her gift would be the perfect one to try it out on. Before I started stamping my white wrapping paper (that I bought at Target) I figured I'd do a tutorial to show how I did it.

First: I started by measuring out my wrapping paper. This way I only stamped the paper I needed to wrap the present. I also chose the stamp set and colors I would need to create my "custom" paper.

Second: For this design I chose SU!'s Eastern Blooms stamp set. I then chose Cameo Coral, Ruby Red, and Tempting Turquoise as my color pallet. I stamped the largest flower randomly on the paper making sure to leave some room for my other two images. I really wanted Cameo Coral to be my main color so I used this color for my largest image.

Third: I selected my second image which was a little smaller than the first. My secondary color was Ruby Red.

Fourth: I used my smallest image to fill in and make sure that there were no "holes" in the paper. Tempting Turquoise was my accent color and worked perfectly for the smallest flower stamp. Voila! There you have a "custom" wrapping paper.

Voila! There you have a "custom" wrapping paper.

Of course I made a matching card. The stamped envelope is shown in the first picture.

So there you have it! My homemade wrapping paper. What do you think?

I've been dieing to put my new Decore Elements "Create" decoration on my wall in our spare bedroom. The wall really needed to be painted and I had to move my desk so that it was centered (directly under my sign) before I could put it up. I managed to move my desk but I couldn't wait to put my inspirational sign on the wall. :o) Can you say impatient? That's me!

I'm thinking of buying a few other pieces. I found a picture in the new phase of decor elements that Stampin' Up! is releasing. I just loved it! As soon as I try and recreate the look I'll be sure to post it so everyone can see how it looks.

I just love this wall decoration. I hope it helps me get the creative mojo I need to bust out some fabulous cards!!! Happy Stamping!

Holiday Planner

I've been meaning to post this and haven't. I got a little caught up in the Stamping Fiesta (don't worry I'll go back to that tomorrow!).

Last month I was trying to think about the up coming holidays and started feeling that overwhelming sense when all of the "to do" list start appearing - you know, shopping lists, baking lists, food menus, organizing the holiday party, decorating for Halloween and then fall and then CHRISTMAS! I'm definitely a planner and BFF Steph is even more of one than I am so I figured if I was stressing in August about Christmas I knew she would be soon.

That's when I made this little holiday planner to help keep Christmas (which lets face it -tends to be the most stressful holiday of them all) organized. No one is more successful at keeping up a planner like Steph so I designed this one with her in mind. For the sake of keeping this post short and sweet I won't give a run down of all the tools and accessories I used, however you're more than welcome to leave me a comment and I'll let you know what I used specifically. Of course I used all Stampin' Up! products and everything coordinated! Below are some pictures showing the inside cover and the tabs. I also made a page marker with the flower ribbon slide from the new Hodgepodge Hardware.

I wrote a little note to personalize it for Steph and also to commemorate the date. I know - mushy mushy!

And there you have it - Steph's 2008 holiday planner. I know she loved it and I loved making it for her. There's nothing better than giving a gift from the heart to someone who genuinely appreciates all that goes into hand stamped (and handmade) items. Happy holiday planning Steph!

Two more cards!!!

Here are the next two cards in the Stamping Fiesta series. Enjoy!

This card was made by BFF Steph. This stamp set was in the recent mini catalog and I'm kicking myself for not ordering it. It's a good thing Steph did. Our Stamps are like our clothes and shoes - we share! Needless to say this card is SO CUTE!

I made this card with the Dreams du Jour set. I think my favorite part is the 3D butterfly. It's the little things that I like!

Stamping Fiesta Card #1

Here are the first two cards made the other night by me and BFF Steph during our Stamping Fiesta.

This card was made with the Inspired by Nature stamp set. I used the stampin' markers to color on the stamp and then sprayed water on it with a spray bottle. This technique gives the stamped image a water colored look. I also used the new 1 inch double stitched grosgrain ribbon in Chocolate Chip. I absolutely love it! It might just be my favorite ribbon! The card is done in Kiwi Kiss and the brown is Chocolate Chip. I thought this was a fun little card that was easy to make.

This FABULOUS card was made by BFF Steph with the Grand Soiree set. I LOVE this set (and this card!). She used black and pixie pink for her colors and also used the new scallop edge punch. Something tells me I need to get this stamp set in the near future! Too cute!

Another Stamping Fiesta!

We did it again! Steph and I got together and stamped until 4am! We created a ton of cards and used almost all of our stamp sets. For the next couple of days I will post two cards from our recent stampin' fiesta so stay tuned and see each card up close and personal. Here's a sample of all our cards.

Hurry! I need a bucket!

I found these fun colored buckets at Target and couldn't resist decorating them with my Stampin' Up! stuff. I used the crop o dile to pierce through the tin and weaved the ribbon through the holes. I also was able to pierce the tin and use a raised dot designer holder from the new hodgepodge hardware set. Aren't they fabulous? I'm going to use the pink at stamp camps and workshops to hold the pens that have my Stampin' up! demo website on them. The red bucket would be great as a "gift bucket". What would you use these buckets for?

Fun at the Padre game!

The other day Daniel's Mom, Dad, Daniel, and I went to the padre game and had tons of fun! Not only did the Pad's win but we got to watch a double header. The Storm (Padres) won against the 66er's (Dodgers). It was a long day but we were really surprised at how much fun we all had. Here are some of our pictures from our day at the ballpark!

Despite his face, Daniel really was having fun! I certainly was!

Mama and Papa Carbajal enjoying the game!

This is Thunder - The mascot from the Padres minor league team. He was all over the place!

I think I've decided..."It's time for a change!"
Both Daniel and I watched the DNC tonight and agreed that it's OBAMA all the way! Neither of us are very political, and aside from sounding corny, it was neat being able to witness history tonight.

Bochy the Killer!

I found this cool website that lets you alter your pictures with fun little things. Take a look at Bochy the killer beagle! The website is http://www.blingee.com/. I think you can even do virtual scrapbooks. Kind of cool huh?

Middle of the night stamping!

So the other night my BFF came over and we had an evening of stamping. It's rare that we do this however we decided that this should be a regular occurrence! We finished our stamping fiesta at 3:30am! We really couldn't believe how much fun we had! Truth be told we have fun regardless of what we are doing but nothing could be better than sharing what you love with your BFF! Good times!
Here are a few of our projects as well as the grand finale at 3:30am!

I've finally caved in!

It's official! I've joined the rest of the universe and created a blog. I've fought off the myspace pressure but finally caved to the blog. I can't believe it. I figured this was a great way to share my Stampin' projects with friends and family and a great way to share what I love. Despite my resistance to start something like this it was rather easy! The hardest part was naming my blog. I threw a couple of catchy phrases by my husband and quickly received his "I don't like that" look. I decided on Stampmaster Shelley since that's what my brother in law calls me (thanks Sam!). So here it is universe...my first blog! We'll see how long I can keep this up. Maybe it's as addicting as stamping! :o)
